Founded by sisters Angela and Cathy, Food for Skin is a Dutch skincare brand with a clear mission: to offer skincare that is honest, effective, and truly sustainable. Embracing a minimalist philosophy that prioritises powerful natural ingredients, the brand stands on values of transparency, integrity, and nurturing the skin’s natural vitality. It is this clarity of vision that makes Miron not just a partner, but the perfect match.
Personal Challenges
Their direction stemmed from real-life frustrations. Angela discovered that products marketed as “green” still contained microplastics, while Cathy, a seasoned skin therapist, struggled with dryness linked to synthetic formulations. Determined to create something better, they spent two years collaborating with a cosmetic formulator to launch a minimalist skincare range powered exclusively by fruit and vegetable extracts, with no fillers, no water, no microplastics.
Skinimalism & Honesty
Food for Skin’s products offer simplicity without compromise: fewer, multi-functional formulations for all skin types, ages, and genders. Their Tomato Base Cream, for instance, features 74% tomato ingredients, a substantial departure from the token amounts typical in other formulas.
This clarity of purpose has earned them several Dutch Beauty Awards and B-Corp certification in 2023. The brand also embraces transparency wholeheartedly, openly sharing areas for improvement, such as their temporary reliance on plastic pumps.
"We are not perfect, but by being honest about what has yet to be solved, we build trust.”

The Role of Miron Glass
From the beginning, packaging was a challenge: how to protect natural formulations without synthetic preservatives? Plastic was not an option, and ordinary glass did not provide enough protection. Food for Skin set strict requirements:
- Packaging had to be produced in Europe
- Made with a large proportion of recycled glass
- and be 100% recyclable
It also had to preserve the vitality of their formulas. The solution was Miron glass. According to Food for Skin’s own safety tests, their products last six months longer in violet glass (from 30 to 36 months) — a crucial benefit for preservative-free skincare.
Miron glass acts as a natural preservative, filtering out harmful visible light while allowing beneficial UV-A, violet, and infrared rays to pass through. Tests have confirmed that this supports long-term product vitality.
Food for Skin’s Experience
“For us, violetglass has made a real difference. Among other things, we noticed the following:”
- Premium appearance – “The packaging reflects the quality we want to stand for.”
- Sustainability – “It matters to us that the glass is produced in Europe and can be recycled.”
- Greater flexibility – “As a young brand, smaller order volumes made it possible to start with Miron packaging, and it grows with our company.”
