Quality Specialist

1. Purpose of the Role

As a Quality Specialist at Miron Violetglass B.V. and Calaso B.V., you are responsible for quality control of incoming goods (glass packaging in the form of bottles and jars up to approx. 2 liters) and associated components. You are also responsible for the thorough validation of customer quality complaints. You help deliver high-end glass packaging that meets stringent requirements from clients in industries such as cosmetics and food.



2. Organizational Position & Interaction

The Quality Specialist reports to the Chief Operating Officer and collaborates with the Procurement, Sales, and Warehouse departments.



3. Role – Key Responsibilities

Incoming Goods Inspection (Inbound Quality Control)
  • Conduct visual and technical inspections of incoming glass packaging and components
  • Assess dimensions, tolerances, breakage, deformation, surface flaws, and glass defects against product specifications
  • Check accompanying quality documentation (e.g. certificates, test reports)
  • Document deviations in the QMS system and create Non-Conformity Reports (NCRs)
  • Collaborate with suppliers on deviations: root cause analysis and follow-up
  • Approve or block batches based on inspection results
Customer Complaint Validation
  • Register and analyze customer complaints
  • Communicate with account managers about the nature and progress of complaint investigations
  • Support or conduct internal investigations (RCA) and sampling
  • Validate complaints with objective justification of their validity
  • Prepare reports (8D reports, customer-facing feedback) and monitor follow-up actions
  • Actively contribute to reducing recurring complaints
Monitoring & Improvement
  • Analyze deviation trends (internal and customer-side) and identify structural issues
  • Report quality KPIs such as defect percentages, first-time-right rate, and complaint ratios
  • Provide input for supplier evaluations and improvement programs
  • Contribute ideas to optimize inspection processes and quality assurance throughout the supply chain


4. Requirements and Necessary Skills & Experience

  • Associate/Bachelor’s degree, preferably in quality, process engineering, chemistry, or materials science
  • Experience in quality-related work within the glass, packaging, or manufacturing industry
  • Familiar with measuring tools, visual inspection criteria (e.g. GPI standards), and quality documentation
  • Experience handling customer complaints is a plus
  • Experience with Quality Management Systems (QMS) and basic knowledge of ISO 9001 or BRC Packaging
