Sustainability Manager

"Turning sustainable ambitions into real impact.''

At Miron and Calaso, we're looking for more than a Sustainability Manager. Are you the one who can inspire change, drive progress, and help shape a more sustainable future? If that sounds like you, keep reading.

About this role

Miron glass does something most packaging cannot it actively protects what is inside. By filtering out the wavelengths of light that degrade natural ingredients, the glass helps products retain their color, aroma, and potency longer. That is not a marketing claim. It is the reason our customers choose us.

We seek a Sustainability Manager ready to build. Our program has solid foundations in reusability and product longevity. We hold active certifications like EcoVadis and are working towards B-Corp. We adjust as regulations and customer needs change. We focus on structure, reporting, and sharing our efforts. This role will guide our future direction.

You will work across Miron and our sister brand Calaso, operating globally. You will report directly to the CEO and collaborate closely with almost every team in the business, from Marketing and Sales to Procurement, Product Development, and Logistics.

Why Miron

Our product extends the shelf life of natural formulations, which reduces waste at the product level. We help brands replace primary and secondary synthetic packaging with something durable, refillable, and honestly better for what is inside.

What makes this role interesting right now?
  • CSRD, PPWR, and growing customer demand for supplier sustainability data are creating a real need for structure. You are coming in at the right moment.
  • The foundations are already in place: ISO 14001, EcoVadis, and a B Corp certification that is nearly complete. Your role is to build on them, not start from scratch.
  • You will be the first dedicated sustainability function at this scale. That means real ownership.

What you will work on

Strategy and program ownership

You define the sustainability vision for Miron and Calaso and turn it into a practical roadmap with clear milestones. You set SMART targets across emissions, waste, and resource use. You own the program.

Reporting and compliance

You structure our sustainability reporting, from internal dashboards to external disclosures. You keep us ahead of CSRD and PPWR requirements. You maintain ISO 14001 and EcoVadis and assess where additional certifications make sense.

Product and supply chain

You lead life cycle analyses and develop impact assessments for our product range. You work with Procurement to set supplier standards and collect verified data on carbon footprint, recycled content, and renewable energy use.

Customer-facing communication

You collaborate with Marketing to substantiate every sustainability claim we make, publicly and to customers. No greenwashing. You develop product-level sustainability datasheets and support the Sales team in answering detailed customer inquiries.

Internal culture and capability

You build awareness and embed sustainability thinking across the business. That means working with Sales on how to answer customer questions about PPWR compliance, supporting Marketing in positioning Miron as a credible sustainable choice, advising the MT on both near-term priorities and the long-term direction over the next decade, collaborating with Product Development on what sustainability criteria new products need to meet, and exploring what can be improved in logistics. You are the internal expert people turn to when sustainability questions come up, and the person who helps translate those questions into clear, actionable answers.

What you bring

  • A solid background in sustainability, environmental sciences, or a closely related field, gained in a corporate or consultancy setting.
  • Working knowledge of CSRD, PPWR, and relevant EU sustainability regulations.
  • Hands-on experience with life cycle analysis, carbon footprint measurement, and sustainability reporting frameworks.
  • Familiarity with B Corp, ISO 14001, EcoVadis, or other relevant certification processes.
  • The ability to translate complex sustainability topics for commercial teams, customers, and senior leadership.
  • A builder’s mindset: you are energized by creating structure where there is none, not by maintaining a system that already works.
  • The communication range to translate sustainability into language that works for a procurement manager in Germany, a founder in London, and a Sales colleague in Hoogeveen, all in the same week.
  • Fluent in English; Dutch is a plus.

About Miron

Miron is a specialist manufacturer of violet glass packaging, operating globally across beauty, wellness, nutrition, and food. Our glass filters light in a precise way: it blocks most wavelengths that cause oxidation and degradation, while allowing a narrow band of violet, UVA, and infrared light to pass through. The result is longer shelf life, less waste, and packaging that plays an active role in protecting what is inside.

We are a founder-led company based in Hoogeveen, Netherlands, with a team that takes the mission seriously and a product that speaks for itself.

About Calaso

Calaso is our sister brand and a global glass packaging partner. Where Miron specializes in violet glass, Calaso offers a broad range of glass types across bottles, jars, and closures. Both brands serve B2B customers worldwide and share the same production standards and a belief that glass is the right choice for brands that care about what is inside

What we offer

  • Competitive salary in line with market standards.
  • A premium-free pension.
  • Flexible working hours and the option to work remotely part of the week.
  • Daily lunch provided at the office.
  • A laptop and phone.
  • Multiple team outings throughout the year.
